We began preparing for the new school year this week with our first-ever KinderCamp! The three-day event offered rising Kindergarten students the chance to tour the school, meet their teachers, and participate in fun learning activities. Nearly two dozen students took part in the unique opportunity, which included art and STEAM classes and a read-aloud. Campers also left with a bag full of goodies, including school supplies, games, books, and learning materials to use at home. What a way for these young students to jump-start the new school year! On May 24th, every Ranson student in second grade received a new bag with 10 books of their choosing. Our school and students have worked with the local Martinsburg/Sunrise Rotary Reading Program, called Ranson Reads, for the past two years. The students were very excited when they received their new books and provided an opportunity in which students had a choice in what they would like to read from almost 100 book selections.
