Our first-ever Family STEAM/STEM Night was a huge success! We were excited to see so many of our students and their families attend this event. We all had a great deal of fun while learning together!
Ranson Elementary welcomes author, illustrator, and story teller Kevin Sherry. Mr. Sherry is entertaining our students with stories that inspire creativity and thinking outside the box.
Another successful parent evening with a math-focused theme. It was wonderful to see the children playing and engaging with their families. Mark February 16, 2023, on your calendars for our STEM family night. Our next event will be a fantastic evening filled with interactive learning activities and perhaps even some snacks. We're pleased to bring holiday cheer to neurodiverse students and their families again this year with the second annual JCS Sensory Santa! This event gives sensory-sensitive children and their families a chance to visit Santa in a calmer, less-chaotic environment. The fun continues the weekend thanks to our student and staff volunteers!
National Special Education Day commemorates the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) into law in 1975, granting children with special needs access to free and quality public education. Today we recognize and celebrate our incredible special education community at JCS with a heartfelt THANK YOU to the teachers and aides who serve some of our most exceptional learners. 💙💛💙💛

Ranson Elementary held its first-ever indoor Trick or Treat event tonight. Hundreds of children dressed in their unique Halloween costumes and accompanied by their families roamed the halls, letting their imaginations run free as they were given over 50,000 pieces of candy.

Tip #4: Never leave your devices unattended, even for a short time. Always secure your laptop, tablet, phone, or flash drive so no one else can use it while you're away. And while you're at it, tidy up your desk to ensure no passwords, account details, or important files are sitting out openly exposed. You'll leave with peace of mind AND a clean workspace! Principals set the academic tone for their schools, and it is their vision, dedication, and determination that provide the mobilizing force for achieving student success. Ranson Elementary School kindergarteners and first graders recently enjoyed a lesson in fire safety, thanks to the Independent Fire Company 4 of Ranson! Students learned about the equipment firefighters must wear to be safe when fighting fires and had the opportunity to see the company's fire truck and learn about its equipment. Thank you to Company 4 for providing RES students with a great learning experience!
